Il-potenzjal kbir tal-ekonomija diġitali mhuwiex qed jiġi sfruttat biżżejjed fl-Ewropa. Diversi studji juru li l-opportunitajiet diġitali ġodda joħolqu bosta opportunitajiet kummerċjali.

Il-prospetti ta' tkabbir offruti mill-ekonomija diġitali fl-Ewropa huma promettenti wkoll f'termini ta' provvediment ta' soluzzjonijiet għar-rati dejjem jogħlew tal-qgħad u ħolqien ta' opportunitajiet ġodda ta' xogħol, b'mod partikulari għaż-żgħażagħ.

It-titjib tal-użu tat-teknoloġiji diġitali u s-servizzi online huma fost il-prijoritajiet politiċi tal-Kummissjoni Ewropeja.

It-turiżmu huwa wieħed mill-kontributuri ewlenin għall-ekonomija Ewropeja u bħala tali huwa kritiku biex jiġi żgurat il-kompetittività tat-turiżmu tal-Unjoni Ewropeja. It-tisħiħ fid-diġitaliżżazzjoni tal-SMEs tat-turiżmu ser tippermetti lill-industrija tat-turiżmu Ewropeja li tirnexxi fid-dinja diġitali tal-lum.

Bħalissa, hemm ftit tagħrif u informazzjoni disponibbli dwar il-livell ta' diġitaliżżazzjoni speċifikament fis-settur tat-turiżmu fil-livell tal-UE, kif ukoll dwar l-ostakoli li jimpedixxu lin-negozji tat-turiżmu tal-UE biex itejbu l-użu tal-għodda diġitali tagħhom.

Minħabba dan, il-Kummissjoni Ewropeja kkummissjonat proġett ta' riċerka biex tiddetermina l-livell ta' diġitaliżżazzjoni tal-SMEs Ewropej tat-turiżmu, kif ukoll biex jaraw x’problemi l-organiżżazzjonijiet qegħdin jiffaċċjaw.

F'dan ir-rigward, napprezzaw ħafna jekk inti tista' tikkontribwixxi bil-ħin u l-esperjenza tiegħek billi tipparteċipa f’din ir-riċerka.

The huge potential of the digital economy is underexploited in Europe. There is evidence that new digital opportunities create new business opportunities.

The growth prospects offered by the digital economy in Europe are promising also in terms of providing solutions for the soaring rates of unemployment and creating new job opportunities, particularly for young people.

Enhancing the use of digital technologies and online services is among the European Commission's policy priorities.

Tourism is one of the key contributors to the European economy and as such is critical to ensure the competitiveness of EU tourism. Enhancing digitalisation of tourism SMEs will enable the European tourism industry to thrive in today’s digital world.

Currently, there is very little data and information available on the level of digitalization specifically in the tourism sector at EU level as well as on the obstacles preventing EU tourism businesses to improve their use of digital tools.

In view of this, the European Commission has commissioned a research project to determine the level of digitalisation of European tourism SMEs and the barriers these organisations are facing.

In this regard, we would appreciate if you could contribute with your time and experience by participating in this research.
