Digimajanduse suur potentsiaal on Euroopas alarakendatud. Uuringud on näidanud, et uued digivõimalused loovad ka äritegemiseks uusi võimalusi.

Digimajandusest tulenev kasvupotentsiaal on paljulubav lahendus üha kasvavale töötuse määrale, luues uusi töökohti, ning seda eriti just noortele.

Digilahenduste e-teenuste kasutamise tõstmine on Euroopa Komisjoni üks prioriteetvaldkondi.

Turism on Euroopa majanduse üks võtmepanustaja ning seetõttu on kriitiliselt tähtis tagada EL turismi konkurentsivõime. Turismisektori VKE’de digitaliseerumise suurendamine võimaldab Euroopa turismisektoril tänapäeva digitaalses maailmas edukalt toime tulla.

Täna ei ole palju andmeid ning informatsiooni EL turismisektori digitaliseerumise tasemest ja takistustest, mis seisavad digilahenduste laiema kasutuselevõtu ees.

Eelnevast tulenevalt on Euroopa Komisjon algatanud uurimisprojekti, mille eesmärk on selgitada välja Euroopa VKE’de digitaliseerumise tase ning nende poolt kogetud takistused.

The huge potential of the digital economy is underexploited in Europe. There is evidence that new digital opportunities create new business opportunities.

The growth prospects offered by the digital economy in Europe are promising also in terms of providing solutions for the soaring rates of unemployment and creating new job opportunities, particularly for young people.

Enhancing the use of digital technologies and online services is among the European Commission's policy priorities.

Tourism is one of the key contributors to the European economy and as such is critical to ensure the competitiveness of EU tourism. Enhancing digitalisation of tourism SMEs will enable the European tourism industry to thrive in today’s digital world.

Currently, there is very little data and information available on the level of digitalization specifically in the tourism sector at EU level as well as on the obstacles preventing EU tourism businesses to improve their use of digital tools.

In view of this, the European Commission has commissioned a research project to determine the level of digitalisation of European tourism SMEs and the barriers these organisations are facing.

In this regard, we would appreciate if you could contribute with your time and experience by participating in this research.
